3 suicide bombers killed
Three female suicide bombers were yesterday confirmed dead in Maiduguri, the Borno state capital, during a failed attack on petrol tankers parked near a filling station in the city.
According to online reports, the attack was carried out by three female suicide bombers around 3am on Friday, March 3, 2017.
The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) Borno state police command, Victor Isuku, confirmed yesterday’s attack, but gave no further details.
A witness, Abubakar Kaumi, said a woman suspected to be a suicide bomber, alongside two girls, detonated their explosives near the filling station.
“A woman suspected to be a suicide bomber walking alongside two girls came round the depot.
“They detonated their explosives near some petrol tankers parked there, and destroyed the three vehicles.
“Gladly, nobody was closed by, so, only the three bombers died,” the witness.
