Over 400 Schools for GTBank- Ogun State Principals’ Cup
This was made known at a media conference to herald the beginning of the competition by the Chief Operating Officer, COO, of Media Vision, organisers of the competition, Jimi Sogbesan.
However, representative of GTBank, Tolulope Onipede said everyone had in one way or the other benefitted from GTBank Principals Cup and charged the pupils to take advantage of the platform.
“The competition is a platform the pupils should take advantage of and we hope many more stars would emerge from this year’s edition,” Onipede said.
She however reminded the pupils that not all of them would emerge to become footballers, but that they can still explore other areas of sports like reporting, photography, refereeing and many more.
Representative of the Commissioner of Education, Mr. Akinsolu Martins, thank GTBank for its continuous support of the competition, just as he said the competition had never recorded any violence as the pupils had never been unruly.
His counterpart in the sports ministry, the Commissioner of Youths and Sports, Mr. Moruf Afuwape, said government alone cannot run sports and therefore charged other corporate organisations to follow the footsteps of GTBank in reviving the Principals’ Cup.
The highlight of the event was the presentation of cheques to winners of Season 4 winning schools by sponsors, while the organisers also presented 100 balls, goal post nets and corner flags to the state.
